Saint Days: C.S. Lewis, Teacher of the Faith

Today in the Church calendar we remember C.S. Lewis (1898-1963). He was a faithful Anglican churchman and an influential and prolific author who wrote works like Mere Christianity, The Problem of Pain, A Grief Observed, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Space Trilogy. His writings have influenced countless Christians.
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” -C.S. Lewis
Our prayer on the day of C.S. Lewis:
Almighty God, you gave to your servant C.S. Lewis special gifts of grace to understand and teach the truth as it is in Christ Jesus: Grant that by this teaching we may know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
